In-person & online
Opening the conference, this session offers a chance to reflect on how listening, understanding, and shared experience can shape the way Citizens Advice works alongside communities.
We’ll explore the work of Poverty Truth Commissions, spaces where people with lived experience of poverty and civic leaders come together as equals to shape change.
This panel discussion, featuring commissioners and staff from the Poverty Truth Network and Citizens Advice, will consider the differences between one-off and generational poverty, how we can balance crisis response with long-term structural change, and how deep listening can transform people, relationships, and organisations.
Martin Johnstone - Co-Director of Poverty Truth Network
